Construction Products Regulation (CPR)

The new Construction Products Regulation (CPR) came into force in the UK and the rest of the EU on the 1st July 2013, however not all construction products were required to be CE marked from this date. You may be aware that the CPR requires you to apply a harmonised standard as part of the CE marking process and whilst the majority of these standards were available to be used, there was a large number that were still in their transitional period.

Metal construction products were largely affected by this transitional period, as one of the main standards (EN 1090-1) for structural steel and aluminium components does not become mandatory until 1st July 2014.
